This post isn’t part of my “official” Dollywood series, but I noticed something interesting when I was looking at the park map at Dollywood.com – Daredevil Falls and the Slidewinder aren’t on it! This might be because the map that is currently on the site is the Christmas Season map, and these rides probably don’t run because it’s too cold. But, it’s also worth noting that the location for the new Wild Eagle rollercoaster is shown on the map, and it looks like it is very close to – and maybe even on top of – Daredevil Falls or Slidewinder.
I haven’t heard anything about any rides closing to make room for the Wild Eagle, but I found it strange that two of the park’s major rides were missing from the latest map. If you have any knowledge of what’s going on, post it in the comments section. I’m particularly interested to learn if anyone can confirm whether or not Daredevil Falls and/or Slidewinder are being removed from the park.
